It has become a kind of tradition by now that in the last week of August, the great Kaidi Tatham is gracing London with a live appearance. We’ve posted videos of these events more than just once, so if you’re in London this Thursday make sure not to miss this show at Mau Mau Bar!
The concert is once again hosted by Jazz Re:freshed, who also released the Kaidi’s 5ive a year ago. For more details, visit their website and check the Facebook page for the event. Hope to see you there!
New York based Dego (of 4hero and 2000black fame) will make a stop in London in September to bring his latest masterpiece A Wha’ Him Deh Pon? to the stage. As usual he’s supported by Kaidi Tatham and Akwasi Mensah.
The whole thing takes place on September 15, 2011 at London’s C.A.M.P. with support from Eric Lau and Tanya Auclair.

London has always been a place where you could go on a random weekend and find a party where one of your favourite DJs/producers will play the best music you ever heard. But even in such a place there are some special events and from the look at the line-up, next weekend’s Soundcrash
event could be one of them.
United at Camden’s Koko, you will get to hear DJ sets from heavyweights such as Harmonic 313, Hyperdub founder Kode9 and Eglo’s very own Alex Nut. And there’s more to it with live performances from Austrian Korgmeister Dorian Concept and another Hyperdub’s King Midas Sound.
We’re giving away two pairs of tickets and here is how you can enter the competition: If you are 18 years or older, all you have to do is leave a comment with your email address (won’t be published.) Winners will be picked randomly, but then again we’ve always had a soft spot for anecdotes. If you have a story worth telling related to any of the performing artists, that might increase your chances a little. The give-away Wednesday at midnight, London time.
Regular tickets can be ordered for £16 at Koko‘s website. The party starts at 9 pm, be there early!
Update According to this tweet, regular tickets are almost sold out!
Hanging out in Los Angeles and not sure what to do tonight? Well, it’s kind of last minute, but we just felt like we should recommend you the Austin Peralta album release party.
You might have heard his new album Endless Planets, which only came out this week on Brainfeeder. In any case check out the videos below.
The full band includes Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (viola), Sam Gendel (alto sax), Ryan McGillicuddy (bass), Zach Harmon (drums & tabla), Earnest Blount aka Ian Simon (laptop) and Austin Peralta himself on the piano.
Check out the events page on Facebook for details!
November 24, 2012 As of today, the entire concert is available for free download!
Los Angeles’ Nosaj Thing will bring his fantastic visual show to selected cities in the U.S. and he’ll be accompanied by Toro Y Moi and Jogger. He is easily one of the best live-acts I got to see in recent years and in combination with those stunning visuals an experience you don’t want to miss!
Nov. 10 The Loft – La Jolla, CA
Nov. 11 El Rey Theatre – Los Angeles, CA
Nov. 12 Rickshaw Stop – San Francisco , CA
Nov. 13 The Red Fox Tavern – Eureka, CA
Nov. 15 Holocene – Portland, OR

I still consider Jamie Lidell‘s performance at Sónar 2005 one of the best concerts in my life, so I want to recommend catching him on his world tour.
For the next month, he’ll be all over the United States and Canada, followed by a tour through Europe. The video above contains snippets from previous concerts, including lots of backstage footage.
The track in the background is I Wanna Be Your Telephone, taken from the Compass album.
If you happen to be in Tokyo for the next weekend, you might want to consider dropping by at the Blip Festival. So if you’re into this whole culture of retrogaming, 8-bit sounds and blocky graphics, the festival should definitely be worth it.
Among the line-up are musicians Quarta330 (Hyperdub) and 8bitpeoples‘ Nullsleep, Bit Shifter, Stu and No Carrier. Each performance is backed up by international VJs and visual artists, check out some footage from previous installments of the festival.
A schedule for the festival is already available, tickets can be ordered on the website or from 8bitpeoples.
Update Have a look at this Invite ROM video!

Still no flyer in sight, but at least an official announcement from fabric. To kick-off their quarterly events in partnership with the Red Bull Music Academy, they present the second Brainfeeder London event taking place on March 10, 2010.
“The Brainfeeder London show will be some essential shit for anyone who’s into the future sound. We’re blessed to be throwing the party at fabric of all places. It’s easy to say it will be a night that people will talk about for a very long time.” – Flying Lotus
“The line up for this Brainfeeder event at fabric is unbelievable; every artist is bringing something different. I don’t think we will see a roster like this ever again.” – Nosaj Thing
You might want to hold your breath before taking a look at the full line-up. The Brainfeeder family sends in Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp Killer, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing and Tokimonsta. Without a doubt that’s reason enough to make it there, but you have only seen the first half of the list. The line-up is being completed by Hyperdub founder Kode9, Stones Throw’s J.Rocc, Dimlite, Martyn
and Dorian Concept.
Tickets are now on sale for only £12.50. If you don’t want to miss the party of the year, I suggest you get your’s today.
Feb 18, 2010 The fabric website no longer lists Dorian Concept on the line-up
Feb 25, 2010 Added the flyer for the event
The year is almost over, time to reminisce on all the good music released in 2009. Gilles Peterson presented the first part of his favourites on his latest radio-show, but the real fun will begin with his upcoming Worldwide Awards.
Unsurprisingly, the line-up is once again promising a great start into the new year. Live shows will be performed by the Floating Points Ensemble, José James & band, King Midas Sound, Andreya Triana, El Michels Affair and many more. Bridging the gaps on the decks are Lefto, the BPM, Darkstar, Gilles himself and one or the other surprise guests. And of course, there are some awards to give away.
The whole show will take place at London’s Garage on February 6, 2010. You can already get your tickets here. To get you into the mood, you should also check out this special Worldwide Awards Mix from Lefto.

Karen P’s Broadcasting and the Red Bull Music Academy are hosting a night at London’s Cargo, that could easily turn out to be the event of the year.
On November 19, the legendary IG Culture will bring his highly acclaimed (and possibly much overlooked) Zen Badizm album to the stage. He will be joined by another West London legend, the keyboard genius Kaidi Tatham of 2000black, Neon Phusion and Bugz in the Attic fame. Also on stage will be long-time companion Akwasi Mensah and Eglo affiliated singer and past RBMA participant Fatima.
If you haven’t pissed your pants yet, let me tell you that Carlos Niño will fly in from Los Angeles to take over the stage with Build an Ark just after that. They will be presenting their new album Love Part 1 and of course songs from the previous ones.
Tickets are now available, for further infos please visit Cargo’s website. For those that can’t make it, RBMA is supposed to record the evening or parts from it – fingers crossed.

The lastest edition of Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Podcast features Japan’s death jazz giants Soil & “PIMP” Sessions. In order to get you warmed up for their upcoming Koko gig, the podcast is made of live recordings from previous concerts at The Roundhouse and Bush Hall.
In addition to that, you can download the Zed Bias remix of “Sahara” from the band’s SoundCloud page.
