There are quite some mixtapes making the round lately and it’s all quality stuff from what I heard so far. So if you’re not following my Twitter stream, here’s a roundup of recommended mixes to get you into the weekend.
With her new EP out on Brainfeeder, Tokimonsta is currently on touring across Europe and the UK. And for those that can’t make it, she has put together the Analogue Monsta, the first of a two part mix series.
Rinse FM had two absolute killers this week, first a two hours set from Africa Hitech, who also announced their new single this week. And secondly it’s SBTRKT‘s new show, which is even better than the previous. Lot’s of exclusives, new remixes and tracks from his forthcoming debut album.
We got a bit concerned about Dabrye lately, haven’t we? Pulse Radio managed to pin down the man for an interview and even got the man doing his first official mixtape. You wouldn’t want to miss that!
More beats are coming by the man of Jay Scarlett, who is guest on Pixelatique‘s latest podcast. And Pete Concrete has made an exclusive mix for this year’s Oddstream Festival.
Towards the end, let’s go uptempo again with BNJMN‘s mini mix for SHOOK, the new Solid Steel with a guestmix from Jackmaster and lastly a mixtape by Brendon Moeller.

It’s Valentine’s Day and like every year, Hudson Mohawke has put together a special tape for the occasion. Another mix for lovers comes from Krystal Klear, titled Everything is Shit….Except You Love.
With Swim, Canada’s Caribou delivered an album that found itself in many best-of lists by the end of last year. For Resident Advisor, main man Dan Snaith made a contribution to their podcast series.
Earlier this month, Toro Y Moi delivered a mix for FACT Magazine and it’s been a personal favourite of mine over the weekend. Watch out for the new album coming out later this month!
More mixes come from New York based Brendon Moeller, who made a mix for Field Records. Lone has recorded a stream-only mix to promote his show at this year’s Bloc Weekend.
And lastly, we’re revisiting Silkie‘s mix for RBMA Radio, originally aired in 2009.

Let’s start this first Mixtape Monday of the year with Dorian Concept‘s NYE Mix for LuckyMe. Dorian was spending his new year up in Scotland and put together this mix to promote the party he was playing at.
For more music of that kind, you should give Devonwho‘s mix for the Elm&Oak Podcast a try. And Montreal’s cmd/ctrl made a guestmix for Mondayjazz, just in case you’re on running short on beats.
Tempa’s Headhunter got on the SoundCloud train and has a mixtape to share. You can stream it from here or download it there.
As you might know Nite Jewel and Stones Throw’s Dâm-Funk are now working on an album-collaboration as Nite-Funk. Consequentially, Stones Throw asked Ramona to contribute a guestmix for their latest podcast.
For Resident Advisor, this mixtape from Brendon Moeller was mix of the week. I’m not so sure about that, at least it’s not as good as the one Brendon did for Resident Advisor way back.
The website of Bratislava’s Nu Spirit club has quite some mixtapes for you to download. I can recommend the Kid Kong Mix (direct link) from Gerd Janson.

Ramadanman posted this old Ruffage Session on Twitter this week. After listening to it repeatedly over the weekend, I decided to share it with you.
With so many mixtapes to share, there’s no way I’m letting you wait until next Monday. Here’s some of the stuff I came across.
As the long-awaited debut album Butter from Hudson Mohawke came out this week, The Fader arranged not only to get him for an interview, Hudson also made the mixtape.
Another new album comes from Dâm-Funk, who blessed this week’s Deviation show with an exclusive, two-hour set. He also put together a mix for Clae Amusement, playing music by Kaidi Tatham, Mr. Fingers and Nite Jewel (via Crazybirds).
Nosaj Thing is still touring through Europe, Percussion Lab has one of his sets – it’s almost a year old, but sounds fresh enough to be heard again.
Two very dubby sets come from Brendon Moeller and Ike Release. The former was playing at this year’s MUTEK_10 and his set is now available for download. Ike’s studio mix was exclusively recorded for the great Sonic Router blog. You can download it here.
Not a download, but a mix worth a stream comes from Greenmoney Radio, who had Joy Orbison in to do a guestmix.
Lastly, 4hero’s Marc Mac posted a new podcast featuring unreleased outtakes and some rare remixes. Don’t forget, they’ve got a new album called Extensions in stores!
