Jonti – Daytrotter Session

Jonti - Daytrotter Session

South Africa’s Jonti played a five track session for Daytrotter, the same website that previously brought us live sets from Mount Kimbie and Com Truise (and a bunch of indie rock bands.) His session includes two tracks from his excellent debut Twirligig (Stones Throw, 2011), the more recent Christmas Worm and two previously unheard tunes, possibly from a new album.

To listen to his Daytrotter Session, you need to register with your email on your website. Registering comes with a free trial month allowing you to download the tracks as well. However, as the download requires you to install Java, proceed with caution.

Com Truise – Daytrotter Session

Thanks to the Mount Kimbie session I first came across the Daytrotter website some months ago. While its archive doesn’t always match this blog’s taste, there are some gems worth checking out – like the latest from New Jersey’s Com Truise.

Com Truise - Daytrotter Session

In order to listen to the five tracks in this live session, you have to register for a Daytrotter account. There are two options available and both sound very fair to me: you can go for the payed option for only $2/month or try out the website for free for the next 30 days. Whichever you prefer, downloads are enabled for both options!

Mount Kimbie – Daytrotter Session

Ahead of their show at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, British duo Mount Kimbie recorded a little live session for the guys at Daytrotter. Four of these tracks are available for download and you can listen to them below.

You can grab the download by hitting the tracks tab in the player above or from the Daytrotter website (requires registration).

There’s also a recording of the party they played later at the festival alongside Young Turks. If you didn’t hear that one before, head over to SoundCloud for a stream.
