Reformat the Planet

As you might know, the Blip Festival stopped in Tokyo last weekend. So I thought this might be the appropriate time to introduce Reformat the Planet, 2-DVD set about 8-bit consoles, chiptunes and birth of the first annual Blip Festival.

The DVD set is already available from the 8bitpeoples store. For infos about the forthcoming festival in Scandinavia and other events, please visit the Blip Festival website.

Suite For Ma Dukes DVD

You might have heard about the upcoming DVDs from Mochilla, one of them featuring the legendary Suite for Ma Dukes concert arranged by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. Following previous excerpts from both the concert and the rehearsals, VTech has posted this brand new video.

For some reason, you have to follow a different link for a fullscreen version of the video. Also make sure to grab yourself the MP3 of that song.

Dub Echoes out soon on DVD

Brazilian filmmaker Bruno Natal is the director of Dub Echoes, a documentary about the history of Jamaican dub music and its influence on contemporary electronic music. Featured musicians include Lee “Scratch” Perry, King Jammy, Sly & Robbie, U-Roy, Kode 9, Mad Professor, Howie B, Bill Laswell and many more!

This award-winning film will be available on DVD for the very first time on May 11th, 2009. You can pre-order it already from Soul Jazz Records.
