FunkinEven – Roland’s Jam

Eglo Records has been treating us good in the last couple of months. First a new EP by Fatima, followed by another Floating Points this week. And next up, it seems, is a new FunkinEven record, at least there’s a new video announcing a new 12-inch.

The video was directed by Inumikaku and features cameos from Fatima. Vinyl release to be confirmed.

Mixtape Monday #14

Kindred Spirits sublabel Nod Navigators, home to Mwëslee, Aardvark or Dorian Concept, will release The Blessings‘ debut EP by the end of the month (maybe early August.) In the meantime you can warm up with the podcast they’ve recorded recently.

Russian blog Gimme5 presents a mix by Miracle Libido, a member of the how2make family. Available for download and stream over here.

Hudson Mohawke‘s mix from this year’s Sonar is available from Numbers, there you’ll also find a set by L-Vis 1990.

Rinse FM regular DJ and Eglo Records boss Alexander Nut has put together a mix for Resident Advisor, who voted the home of Floating Points and Funkineven their label of the month.

Also from Resident Advisor is the new podcast by Magda. She plays a selection of her “favorite old post-punk/disco/electro tracks”

The guys of Soulparlor have done an exclusive mix for RBMA Radio, filled with lots of unreleased music. Stream only.

Not that many mixes this time, let’s see what the guys at Mixcloud recommend!

Floating Points Ensemble Live Session

Last week, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide broadcasted the the Maida Vale Session by the Floating Points Ensemble. Since earlier today, you can listen to an excerpt from that session on FPS’s SoundCloud page.

The long-awaited Vacuum EP should be out on 12-inch through Eglo Records on September 20 is available now.

Update I only mentioned it on Twitter, but there’s a rip of the session floating around as well!

Floatingpoints on Rinse FM

Here comes another mixtape from Floatingpoints, this time recorded for Alex Nut‘s radio-show on Rinse FM. You can listen to the mix on his SoundCloud page, or download it if you’re a collector.

Floatingpoints on Rinse FM (download)
01. MF Doom & Madlib – Break of Dawn
02. Dilla – Swagger Instrumental
03. Ohh – Mary J (Topspin Rmx)
04. Floatingpoints – T1
05. Floatingpoints – Argonaught II

09. De Siegalizer – Apple
10. Floatingpoints – Peroration
11. Darquan – Confused
12. Floatingpoints- Deetrain
13. Devon – Hold Up Zelda

Unfortunately, Alex is talking all over the mix – which is okay for a radioshow, but becomes annoying quickly when listening to the MP3 repeatedly.

Floating Points 7-inch

Here is a record that should sell quickly! The debut from Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points comes in the form of a 7-inch record on the Eglo label, limited to 500 copies only. His productions were featured by the usual suspects Benji B and Gilles Peterson, and his mix for the Mary Anne Hobbs show in January was already dubbed a first contender for mix of the year.

You can now order his record at Bleep, or listen to Sam’s tracks and mixtapes on his Soundcloud page (thanks Creaminal).

While we’re at it, let me also mention Paul White, the second producer featured on the show mentioned above. You might want to grab his mixtapes as well.
