Taken from last year’s excellent Muty City EP by Austrian drummer and producer Cid Rim, watch the official video for Animus/Anima, directed by Belgian “visual gangster” Maxime Quoilin. If you somehow missed Mute City when it came out last September, you can listen to it on Spotify or buy your copy on Bleep or iTunes.
A couple of weeks before the new Actress album Ghettoville becomes available, the Werkdiscs-founder drops the highly limited black label 12-inch Grey Over Blue. If you’re after the vinyl, you better be quick, otherwise you can always go for the digital release. Available from Bleep and the Ninja Shop.
37 Adventures, the London-based record label that kicked off with Dahlia Black earlier this year, is currently preparing its 11th (!) release with another Blue Daisy production. If the title track of the Psychotic Love EP is any indication, we’re in for some wonderfully sinister music, though yet revealing another side of one of our favourite British musicians. No release date revealed yet, but when you look at the label’s past rush of releases, I’m sure it’ll be in stores soon!
December 3, 2013 The release date for the EP is February 10, 2014. Also check out this video for the title track!
Austrian website They Shoot Music visits musicians at their home or other spots in the city of Vienna. New on the list of visited producers is LuckyMe-affiliated Cid Rim, who plays a cut from his Mute City EP released a couple of months ago. Take notice, that you’ll have to enable the subtitles, as they’re not hardcoded into the video. And if you like that video, also check out an older one with Dorian Concept!
One and a half year after releasing his Raw Ivy EP, Italian producer AD Bourke marks his return with his new record “Prelude” on Five Fold, a label recently founded as a sub-division of the Joe Davis-operated Far Out Recordings. However, the track above is not among those to be found on the record, but was released as a free download to get a feeling for the real thing. For snippets of “Prelude” check out this video or the label’s SoundCloud page. Out on Monday, November 25th.

There’s hardly anything to say about Mount Kimbie that you don’t know already. Ever since the duo released their debut on Hotflush back in 2009, their career went uphill. Following their second album released on Warp earlier in the year, there are now four remixes available for your listening pleasure. Above you can stream DJ Koze‘s rework in full, the other remixes by Kyle Hall, Oneman and Lee Gamble can be heard on YouTube.
The “CSFLY Remixes” are out today on vinyl and digital, you can order your copy from Bleep, iTunes or your favourite record store!
Just like the NSA, we’ve been monitoring every little step of Guillermo Scott Herren’s new Yellow Year label, eagerly awaiting the release of their first record. It turns out to be as wonderful as one would expect from either Prefuse 73 or Teebs, so we cannot but recommend picking up a copy. “Speak Soon (Volume One)“ is available now and you can choose between vinyl, CD and digital download. All of them are available directly from the label, Bleep, or your favourite record store!
I have a soft spot for good music videos, no doubt about it. But when you look at the last couple of posts on this website, it might the impression that I’m posting nothing but videos. Don’t worry too much about that, it’s only caused by a lack-of-time period that should be over soon.
A second remix from Cid Rim‘s forthcoming EP on LuckyMe has popped up via XLR8R. Like the Mike Slott version, this one comes from a label mate, though I can’t say that I’ve heard of Joseph Marinetti before in that context. Good remix though, a bit short maybe, and available for free download.
As delighted as we’re to hear the reinterpretations of Cid Rim‘s recent Mute City EP, we couldn’t be happier to hear new music from Mike Slott. One of the original founding members of LuckyMe—alongside Hudson Mohawke and The Blessings—Mike hasn’t released any new music for two and a half years—which is a shame! So, here he is with his remix for Cid Rim, and it’s part of the Mute City Remixes out due October 1st, 2013.
While we’re still waiting to hear new music from Dorian Concept, his friend and Affine label-mate Cid Rim readies his second release on Glasgow’s LuckyMe imprint. Titled “Mute City”, the five track EP is his first release since last year’s mini-album and his first physical output on the label. Pitchfork premiered the full version of Extend Ranges the other day, now it’s ten days of patience until we can pick it up in record stores around the world.
More than a month ahead of its release, Ninja Tune shares the Teebs from the forthcoming new Raffertie single. Rain is taken Sleep Of Reason, Raffertie’s debut album on the label released earlier this month, it will be out in stores on October 6, 2013. Pre-order from the NinjaShop and iTunes.
