Very short, but nicely shot documentary on the Hotflush label. Among the interviewees are Sigha, George Fitzgerald, Machinedrum/Sepalcure, and Scuba himself.
The video was made by ISYS, who you might remember from the Boiler Room football tournament.
With their much anticipated debut album out since Monday, it was only the question of who would get a mixtape by New York duo Sepalcure. Travis and Praveen went with selt-titled, with whom they also had a little chat.
As always, I suggest you get the download, tune in and read what Sepalcure have to say in this interview.
Their self-titled album is available now, you can pick copies on CD, LP and digital directly from the Hotflush Store – or the record dealer of your choice.
We gave you a taster of the new Sepalcure single Pencil Pimp some weeks back. It’s been released since then and now there’s an official music video directed by Thor Brenne under art direction of longtime Sepalcure cover designer Sougwen Chung.
Up next for the duo of Machinedrum and Braille is the release of the self-titled Sepalcure album on Hotflush Recordings. It will hit stores on LP, CD and digital on November 21, 2011.
Just as I finished my post on Machinedrum, this email from Hotflush came in, announcing one last single before the self-titled debut album from Sepalcure finally sees its release.
While the title track will also appear on that album, the flipside I’m Alright is exclusive to this single and available as free download. You can pick up your copy starting in less than two weeks on November 7th, only to be followed by the album on the 21st.
To borrow an expression from the latest Rush Hour newsletter, Machinedrum has been “remarkably on-form” these days. New solo material out on LuckyMe, a must-have album on Planet Mu. And together with with Praveen Sharma (otherwise known as Braille) making music as Sepalure, who are about to release a new EP on Hotflush.
A1. Love Pressure (XI Remix)
A2. Love Pressure (FaltyDL Remix)
B1. Every Day Of My Life (Jimmy Edgar Remix)
B2. Down (Daedelus Remix)
Digital Only: Love Pressure (Lando Kal Remix)
Personally, I love the remixes from FaltyDL and Jimmy Edgar, so I can’t wait til these drop on August 15, 2011. Love Pressure Remixed will be available on 12-inch and digital, the cover artwork looks like it’s once again the work of the amazing Sougwen Chung. And I guess this is probably the last release from Sepalcure before their debut album drops.
The good people at Sonic Router premiered this free EP from Golau Glau, consisting of seven tracks in a minimal techno flavour with dubstep influences here and there. Get the music from Bandcamp and don’t miss the the interview.
While we’re at Sonic Router, their latest podcast was mixed by Hotflush’s George FitzGerald and we think you want that.
Another recommended mix comes from Tom Trago, whose new album Iris is finally available in stores around the world. Also check out his podcast for DJ Broadcast.
Former Bugz in the Attic member Seiji was guest on the latest Solid Steel show, you can download his hour long guestmix on SoundCloud.
However, my favorite mix this week comes from Dark Arx signed Gerry Read. If you like a fix of good house music, get this one!
The track of the week comes from New York duo Sepalcure. Their remix for Schools of Seven Bells is a free download on the XLR8R website.
Lastly, here’s a new video from Bibio, whose new album Mind Bokeh is available now (also some nice shirts!)
I have two mixtapes from New York outfit Sepalcure, that’s Machine Drum together with Percussion Lab‘s Praveen, to share with you. First up is their radio show presented by URB Magazine, the second is an older mix from the Little White Earbuds podcast.
Next up is a mix by Jacques Greene, whose new video we have featured earlier this week. The mix is once again available from URB Mag.
Not a mix, but a free track from the new Fabric 55 mix CD, put together by the one called Shackleton.
Bern’s Sassy J is one of Dimlite‘s closest peers and she has put together a truly great mixtape!
I have mentioned this video of IG Culture aka Son of Scientist interviewing his spiritual father Scientist on Twitter. Apparently, the two also recorded a radio show together.
Benji B showcased three new Photek tunes on his show this week, a fellow blogger recorded that segment and put it on his website.
Lastly, I got a mix by Caribou recorded from FM Brussels in late November.
With Rednose Distrikt and Lukid we had some pretty strong mixtapes last week, not to mention the all new podcast. But time doesn’t stand still, so here’s the latest edition of Mixtape Mondays.
As you know, Mary Anne Hobbs‘ final show was broadcasted last Wednesday. Her guests on the show were Kode9 and Burial, their mixtape is available on Percussion Lab (full show here.)
Fact Magazine continues to put out quality mixes. Following the Four Tet podcast, they put up new ones by Baths and Zed Bias.
The international Worldwide show (as opposed to the UK show) had a guestmix by LA beatmistress Tokimonsta, you can grab the full show from Core News.
More music from Los Angeles comes on the new Low End Theory podcast, with mixes by Daddy Kev and (once again) Baths.
In the past, XLR8R presented a variety of UK based dubstep DJs, but for their latest podcast they had stateside duo Sepalcure.
British blog Allez Allez has a guestmix from Jimmy Edgar, recorded live at Berlin’s Berghain club. And while we’re at it, let me also mention their excellent Caribou mixtape from a while back!
Lastly, I want to mention some classic Brazilian music by the way of HVW8 and Red Rackem‘s guestmix for the OFFtrack radio show.
