One of the great things about Vlek is that you can never be sure what to expect next from them. The small Belgian imprint continuously released little gems from artists mostly unknown to me, but then again, ignorance has never been a good excuse for anything and exploring new music is often so fruitful. So here is Vlek number 16, a 4-tracker from Lawrence Le Doux. The tracks that really made an impression on me are Astre and Terre, go check them out.
Terrestre is available from Vlek, Bleep, or as stream on Spotify. Recommended!
I’ve actually been to Belgium’s 10 Days Off back in 2003 and I have nothing but good memories of the festival and the lovely town of Ghent. Last Thursday, it was Brainfeeder’s Teebs playing there and much to my joy a recording has been made available on SoundCloud.
For repeated listen on your device of choice, grab the download while it’s available!
Not too long ago, the guys of Attic Addict have posted this live-set by Fulgeance at this year’s Dour Festival in Belgium.
If this got you in the mood, check out Fulgeance’s podcast from last year. Or discover his other mixes and releases on Musique Large.
The guys behind LDBK Radio and the Laid Back blog outclassed themselves with their latest project. Wallifornia Soul is a documentary about Jean Roger, a crate digger from Wallonia talking about his life – a journey around the globe driven by his love for music.
Once watched, I’m sure you also want to listen to JR’s set recorded for LDBK.
