Take – Neon Beams (The Clonious Remix)

The Take Remix Contest is over and it’s Vienna’s Clonious who won the top spot – a release on the official remix album.

Already on that album are mixes from Tokimonsta, Mux Mool, Alex B, Low Limit, Teebs, FaltyDL, Shlohmo and many others. Watch out for a release early next year!

Quadron – Average Fruit (BUG Remix)

I wasn’t aware that Quadron are running a remix contest, but then I found BUG‘s submission in my inbox and instantly fell in love with the track. Hear for yourself!

Other noteworthy submissions to the contest come from D’Stephanie, fLako or DZA. Many more can be found here and on top of that you can download the original version for free!

Take Remix Contest

Los Angeles producer Take has launched a remix contest for his Only Mountain album released earlier this year. First results are now available on his SoundCloud page and you can listen to them below.

If you’re a producer yourself and think about entering, head over to the contest website and download the parts of the track Neon Beams. This is what you can win:

1. a spot on Take’s new album “Only Mountain – The Remixes”
2. a special Partner Instrument from Ableton
3. a $100 gift certificate to obeyclothing.com

Take’s remix album will be out in January and already features mixes by Tokimonsta, Mux Mool, Alex B, Low Limit, Teebs, FaltyDL, Shlohmo and many others.

08BAR vs Lazer Sword

Over the last couple of days, my inbox was filling with emails about Lazor Sword. With their album released only a couple of days ago, this shouldn’t be a suprise, but it turned out these emails all regarded a remix session hosted by 08BAR during the Amsterdam Dance Event.

Among the remixers are Tom Trago, SirOJ, Steven de Peven (Rednose Distrikt), Sotu the Traveller and many names I haven’t heard before. They all put their fingers on Lazer Sword’s Web Swag and you can listen to some of the remixes in the player above. And I’m sure more will be added, so check again soon!

Gonjasufi Remix Contest

As you know by now, Gonjasufi’s remix album A Caliph’s Tea Party will be in stores next week and you probably heard some of its tracks yet.

Apart from that album, there is also a contest going on, you can listen to some first results below.

If you’re more interested in remixing yourself, head over to Gonja’s site and download the accapellas for “Love of Reign” or “Candylane”, both taken from A Sufi And A Killer. Results must be in by November 1st, the winner will receive a one-of-a-kind art print signed by Gonjasufi.

Everybody else support your favourite remix and vote for it!

Zed Bias – Boomerang (Philta Remix)

It remains somewhat of a mystery what happened to the Zed Bias remix competition. Sick Trumpet, the label that released the album Experiments With Biasonics Vol. 1, held the contest back in 2007. The winners were picked by Domu, Jenna G, Phil Asher and Marcus Intalex some months later.

Austrian producer Philta was among the lucky ones – or that’s what he thought. To this day, his broken beat rework never made it on a release, be it a 12-inch or digital.

So I’ve been thinking, I could help putting Philta on your musical map. You will find lots more on his SoundCloud or MySpace pages, bruk heads need to check out the track Sweaty as well.
