Weekend Mixtapes

Good Morning from Berlin! Morning has long been over, but I’m still in bed to compile this list of weekend mixtapes.

In anticipation of the forthcoming second Minimal Wave compilation, Veronica Vasicka has completed her another podcast for Stones Throw. And while we’re at it, you can get the advance releases of Minimal Wave Tapes Vol. 2 on the newly introduced subscription service on drip.fm.

Seriously, when does a man like FaltyDL get some sleep. Restlessly putting out music and there isn’t exactly a shortage of DJ mixes. His latest is available for download and stream at Concepto Radio.

Surefire Agency spent the week uploading old and new mixtapes froms the artists it represents. Among them is this Jukebox Mix by Addison Groove.

The all new Solid Steel show confused me for a second. Labeled as a Four Tet mix, it’s actually Bristolian Pinch doing a guestmix on the latest show.

Mixmag has a feature on Will Saul, founder of Aus Music. Interview and a short mix can be found on their website.

And lastly, LDLDN has tipped me off with this archive of old jungle mixtapes. Should keep you busy for a while!

Will Saul – Exclusive fabric Mix

When Aus Music founder Will Saul puts together a mix, you can always expect something special. Like this new mix for fabric in which he plays a couple of new joints from the label, an unreleased Maurice Donovan track and some other bits we’ve been excited about over the last weeks and months.

02. Tale Of Us – Dark Song
03. Lonely C & Baby Prince – Your Moms House
04. Voices Of Black – Take Back Soho (Tanner Ross Remix)
05. Kris Wadsworth – Barefoot (Jozif Remix)
06. Theophilus London – Overseas (Soul Clap Efunk Mix)
07. Tanner Ross – Goodbye, Summer

Slept on Mixtapes

One of the good things about every year’s best-of-mania is that you can actually find some stuff you slept on before. In my case these were a couple of mixtapes I’d like to share with you.

From the head of Aus Music comes a nice selection of house music, the 80 minutes long Within Matter Mix by Will Saul (just in case: alternate link).

And from there it’s not far to Scuba‘s guestmix for Brazilian platform Tranquera. A bit of house and techno, some dubstep and everything in between.

Dutch artist Parra is doing some mixes every now and then, always a bit different from what we usually write about, but never disappointing – like his latest for Red Light Radio.

The last one isn’t exactly something I slept on, but I haven’t mentioned it either. Put together by Breakbot for all you lovers out there: Valentine Mix for Dazed Digital.
